Julie’s favorite things: Valentine’s Day
I have to admit that Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays. The colors. The sweet indulgences. The luxury of it. The opportunity for me to give my friends and family fun little gifts. I love giving gifts of any kind, but pretty gifts are the best. Wrapped pretty, printed pretty, smelling pretty, tasting pretty… Pretty! I still send out Valentine cards. I adore buying and giving cookies and cakes just because they are so pretty to look at (and taste fab – of course). I can use this whole day to be as girly as I could ever be – as if being a wedding planner doesn’t allow me to be girly.
So, I compiled a list of pretty things that I’m loving right this moment. Most of these things I love regardless of the day. But, Valentine’s gives me an excuse to go overboard. Even though I love these for myself, I would just as likely give any of these items as a gift to one of my favorite people.
1. French macarons. I dedicated a whole post to French macarons and their perfection in weddings. I’m addicted. 2. Charbonnel et Walker Pink Champagne Truffles. Britain’s Master Chocolatiers have created heaven. 3. Flowers in bud vases. I would much rather have small little pieces of happiness that I can place near my computer, in my guest bath and on my night stand, rather than one huge arrangement. 4. Veuve Clicqueot Rosé. My favorite champagne in girly tones. 5. Love Mini Notes from Dingbat Press. Letterpress and perfect. A handwritten note is such a luxury to receive. 6. Burberry Brit Sheer Perfume. I’ve worn this scent for several years now. It’s light, fresh and airy.
A very happy Valentine’s Day/season/month to us all! Until next time… XOXO, Julie
