It’s that time of year! Time for our staff to get a little shake in the intern position giving us a fresh face in the ie | office and here on the ie | blog. I am so happy to bring Grace on board this summer. Our interns are historically fabulous and multi-talented. Grace will be focused on our public relations side as well as taking over the Fashion Friday posts. She was sweet enough to let me interview her as a bit of an introduction to you all. I do my darnedest to put folks on the spot… .
Where did you grow up? I was raised in Spanish Fort, AL, just a hop skip and a jump away from Fairhope, Gulf Shores and Mobile, AL. It was a great place to grow up.What brought you to Auburn? Auburn’s campus is gorgeous and the people are so friendly. When I was visiting schools it was the only place that felt like home!
What is your major? Public RelationsWhat made you want to major in Public Relations? PR encompasses all of the things that I do well and love to do. I think writing mixed with more creative and visual components make it a perfect fit for me! I also love the idea of helping companies and individuals reach their full potential.
What brought you to Invision Events? I love events, whether it’s planning or attending! When I was looking for an event planning internship, I loved Invision’s personality. After meeting Julie, I could tell how much she truly cares about her clients and wants to make their big day the best it can be. I wanted to be a part of a company like that, and think I will learn a lot!
What is your favorite part of a wedding? I love the moment right after the pastor announces the bride and groom as husband and wife. It’s such a personal moment. They always share a look like “we did it!” and you can tell they are so in love and happy to finally be married.
What’s your favorite color? It depends on my mood! I love yellow but pink and mint green are pretty high on my list too.
What did you want to be when you grew up? When I was younger I really wanted to be an author. I have always loved to write. There is a lot of writing that goes into public relations so it actually worked out!
What is your favorite animal? Hmmm I think I’m going to say a gazelle. There is something so graceful about them!
Where do you want to go when you leave Auburn? That is the million dollar question. I’m not sure yet! I would love to live in a big city like Chicago, Atlanta, NYC or Nashville. I know that doesn’t really narrow it down but it will be interesting to see what happens!
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? I would be happy if I had a family of my own, was living in a city that I love and working as an event planner. That sounds like a great life to me!
Beach or mountains? That’s a tough one. I think both! I love going skiing in the mountains in Colorado with my family at Christmastime, but it’s hard to beat the beach on a summer day.
Dogs or cats? Dogs, There’s something so genuinely friendly about them! I have a Maltipoo named Bitsy that I’m obsessed with! She’s a sweetheart.
Diamonds or pearls? I’m a pearl girl through and through. If you’re not sure about the outfit, throw on some pearls and it is sure to class it up a notch! But hey, no girl is going to complain about diamonds either. We are big cake lovers here at Invision Events. So, what’s your favorite flavor of cake? I love white cake with white frosting….so basically wedding cake haha. My mom always makes it for me for my birthday!
I’m just too excited about Grace being here! Thanks for letting us know more about you!
Until next time… XOXO, Julie
