Newlywed Nest: Simple Summer Cocktails to Serve Tonight

It’s the dead of summer – in Alabama. That means scorching temperatures, lazy days, lots of pool time and fruity cocktails with friends! At your next Birmingham soirée, consider whipping up one of the following libations, all of which we’ve made sure can be done in a pinch, so there’s more time to spend with your guests. Cheers to one of our favorite seasons!

Prosecco Slushies (recipe via Delish)
Having the girls over? Serve up this sweet, pink concoction, which adds an adult twist on what may have been your favorite childhood treat. Don’t forget the lime!

Raspberry Peach Iced Tea (recipe via Damn Delicious)
There couldn’t be anything more Southern than sweet iced tea, but we sure do love an upgrade! Throw in raspberries and peaches for a fruity twist on this classic drink. (While this recipe is non-alcoholic, feel free to mix in vodka, or another light liquor of your choice.)

Coconut Gin and Tonic (recipe via Minimalist Baker)
If you’re looking for something that isn’t too sweet or (dare we say) healthier, this coconut-infused gin and tonic recipe is perfect. Coconut water has been recently trending in the world of health foods, but with a recipe this tasty, you’d never know it.

Champagne Mojitos (recipe via Foodie Crush)
We love champagne, and we love mojitos. A cocktail that marries the two? Now we’re really in love! This divine recipe uses cava, the Spanish version of champagne and one of our absolute new favorites to serve up at a wedding reception.

Cucumber Cooler Cocktail (recipe via Minimalist Baker)
You’ll be cool as a cucumber with this refreshing spritzer, which features gin, cucumber, mint and tonic as star players. If you’re looking to kick up the sweet factor, just add more sugar to taste.

Peach Cobbler Martini (recipe via The Chic Site)
If you’re searching for an amazing dessert cocktail recipe, look no further! Who doesn’t LOVE peach cobbler? Using only fruit juice, whipped cream-flavored vodka, crushed graham crackers and whipped cream, this recipe is minimal in ingredients AND prep time.
