Newlywed Nest Series: Fall Date Nights

Fall is almost officially here (squeal!), and we’re already thinking about plaid, pumpkin spice lattes and fall décor! Get a head start on your fall Birmingham bucket list, and pick out one or two of the date night ideas below to test out with your beau.

Taste the new season.
The flavors of fall are some of our favorite, and Birmingham is a fabulous place to welcome fall with your palate! The Magic City is, more and more, known for its eclectic, fresh and farm-to-table fare, and tons of restaurants offer menus that change seasonally. Try Highlands Bar & Grill, Hot & Hot Fish Club, Bottega Cafe, Café Dupont or Brick & Tin. After all, what’s better than a tomato pie in the summer or an apple crisp in the fall?

Go back to high school.
Whether you live in Homewood, Mountain Brook, Vestavia Hills, Hoover or any city with a high school, grab a blanket and head to the next Friday night football game! There’s nothing like those Friday night lights, a good halftime show and some football to make it feel like fall and transport you back to those good ‘ol days. Not to mention, a yummy stadium burger, hotdog or nachos are not to be missed during this season. Lastly, it’s a fantastic show of support for your community.

Sing your heart out under the stars.
Besides its food, Birmingham is also known for its amazing arts and music scene! Each fall, there are numerous opportunities to enjoy widely known or up-and-coming artists in a live setting. Check out the full fall lineups at The Lyric Theater (Ani DiFranco, Craig Morgan, Needtobreath), Iron City (Judah and The Lion) or Oak Mountain Amphitheatre (Lady Antebellum, Chris Stapleton, Florida Georgia Line), for starters, and grab your tickets now!

Stay at home.
Nothing says fall like enjoying a yummy, home cooked meal (put that crockpot to use!), cuddling up on the couch and playing a board game or watching a football game together. Invite some friends over if you’re feeling social, but remember that some of the most special “dates” end up being the ones you didn’t plan. Cheers with hot apple cider!
