Today is especially exciting as I am finally able to officially welcome Andie Diers to the Invision team as an Associate Wedding Planner! Andie has worked with us for over a year while finishing her degree in Marketing at Auburn University and moved to Birmingham to work in our corporate office. Not only have I watched her work tirelessly for our brides and their families, I found out that she is the family member I didn’t know I was missing. For all of our current and future brides, read on to get to know a little more about Andie. I promise you will love her as much as I do! – Until next time, XOXO – Julie
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Hi! I’m Andie and I’m a recent graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. I actually have lived in Auburn my entire life and just recently moved to Birmingham this past week! I’m obsessed with my job, my dog, and red wine. I travel any chance I get. And I love to try new restaurants and am an Orangetheory fanatic. (Have to balance out the wine and food 🙂 )
What are you most excited for about being a full time team member with Invision Events?
I truly am looking forward to having the opportunity to work alongside both Julie and Courtney and learning from the absolute best in the biz! We have so much fun together, in and out of the office, and I feel blessed to have such amazing role models.
What’s your favorite moment on wedding day?
Well, I have several. I really love the ceremony. I always, always tear up even if I’ve just recently met the couple. It’s such a special moment in the evening. I also love seeing the whole night come together and watching the couple and their families really enjoy themselves. I always think to myself, “and this is why we do what we do.”
It’s the weekend. If you’re not working a wedding, what can we find you up to?
Brunching. Spending time with my family and my golden doodle, Griffin, at our house on Lake Martin. Having a glass of wine with my girlfriends. Traveling. Trying new restaurants. Reading a good book. Watching Suits (because Megan Markle, duh). Shopping!
You just recently moved to Birmingham, do you already have any favorite spots to shop, drink, eat or play?
Oh, of course. One of my best friends works at Etc. so I love to stop in there. My mom and I recently stopped in Hemline and found some cute things. And Three Sheets is just the best. I really love a good rooftop spot – Grand Bohemian, The Elyton, The Redmont, Carrigan’s. My friends and I went to The Atomic once last summer and had the best time having drinks, playing board games, and dressing up in costumes! As far as food, Julie, Courtney, and I like to occasionally treat ourselves to lunch at Olexa’s. 🙂 I love a good margarita and taco from Bartaco or Babalu. And of course, Botega. But I really cannot wait to try so many new places this summer and I’m dying to go to Top Golf.
Tell us about what you’re bringing to the table for the team at Invision Events and why you think that matters to clients.
I’m extremely dedicated and loyal – to my friends, family, work family, and clients. If they need something, I’ll drop anything to be there and help in however way I can. I tend to stay very relaxed and calm on wedding day, which is good in the midst of all of the business that occurs. Most importantly, I love what I do. I’m eager to work and eager to learn. I have never once dreaded going to work at Invision. It doesn’t even feel like work to me, which is really special.
What’s something surprising most people don’t know about you?
That’s a hard one. I’m pretty much an open book and I think Julie and Courtney would vouch for that! If I’m thinking something, I’ll tell you or you can probably read it on my face.
Describe your personal style.
Pretty classic. I like simple and everything white and nuetral. Chic and timeless. I love fashion and design. I probably follow more fashion and interior design blogs on Instagram than people I actually know, ha! I like to stay ahead of the trends but at the same time, avoid anything too trendy that would easily become dated. I’m really enjoying decorating my new apartment right now and finding pieces that are classic, but still young and fun. Same with my closet!
Who is your wedding style icon?
I mean we all love a Royal wedding, don’t we? Anxiously awaiting May 19. More realistically… my wedding style follows pretty closely to my personal style. White, classic, timeless.
What’s been your favorite memory working with Julie and Courtney so far?
There’s so many! Finding out we were going to be featured on People.com was pretty exciting. Modern Luxury’s Diamond Award, too. We stayed at the brand new Omni at Suntrust Park, had our hair and makeup done, got dressed up, won an award, and had the best time! Being named Best Planner in the South by Southern Living last summer was also really cool. But honestly, anytime we’re all together hanging out in the office, getting drinks or working with our clients, we have a good time!
Anything else you’d like to add?
I’m super exited about this new chapter in my life. College graduation, new apartment, new job! I can’t wait to see what the future holds and to begin serving all of our incredible brides and their families.
