Quite possibly my favorite wedding so far this year is Bethany and Joseph. I know that seems like a pretty loaded statement, seeing as though I get the honor and privilege of working with so many couples each and every weekend, but there is definitely something super special about the wedding day these two shared.
For starters, the reception was held on the bride’s grandparents’ land. A beautiful and quaint farm house on a bluff in Grant, Alabama with magnificent views of the mountains and valley, with just enough space for dinner, dancing, and yard games.
Second, the bride wore her mother’s dress (with a little updating from Catherine Ryals) and was married in a ceremony by her father in the same church her parents said their vows in nearly 30 years ago.
Then you’ve got all the other perfect and personal touches: a baseball themed “what a catch” table to honor the groom and his favorite past time, personalized corn hole sets, a variety of wedding cakes made with love by the groom’s mom and grandmother, the bourbon that was buried by the bride’s grandfather…the list goes on and on!
And y’all, we were able to plan this beautiful DIY day in just under four short months. We were blessed with an incredible vendor team that made the weekend spectacular and I’ve got to give shout outs to our friends: Heather Durham Photography for the incredible images, Brittney Shelton for the fabulous hair and make-up, Taylor Zorzi, who had us on the dance floor all night, a paper and hand-lettering dream team of Empress Stationery and The Refined Pen (who turned around a custom save the date in less than a week!) and the wonderful staff at Zoe’s Kitchen who insured dinner tasted just as good as it looked.
Bethany and Joseph, you know I love you both and wish you years of joy and happiness. I hope your honeymoon in the Dominican was everything you dreamed it would be.
