Simply put, we’re suckers for good travel. Ask any one of us on the Invision team, and we can likely give you the spiel on an upcoming vacation or destination wedding. Whether work or play, we can’t get enough of it, and as Southern girls, we also can’t help but love the South and all its glory. Whether beachside or mountaintop, this week we’re sharing our top favorite honeymoon destinations in the Southeast United States. (Passport expired? No worries!)
The Pearl (Rosemary Beach, FL)
For a relaxing coastal honeymoon, look no further than Rosemary Beach, Florida. Tucked away beachside on a cobblestone road is The Pearl, a small boutique hotel offering a full-service spa, plenty of upscale dining options and, most importantly, a short walk to the sugar-sand beaches of the Gulf Coast.
Old Edwards Inn & Spa (Highlands, NC)
Nestled in the southwest plateau of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Old Edwards Inn & Spa offers luxury guestrooms, suites, cottages and vacation homes, a gorgeous golf course, farm-to-table cuisine and breathtaking scenery. We’re sure the fresh mountain air is as rejuvenating as any treatment in its destination spa.
Blackberry Farm (Walland, TN)
For those who prefer to go off the beaten path a bit, there’s Blackberry Farm, an invigorating oasis located in the idyllic Smoky Mountain foothills of Tennessee. One of the country’s most intimate luxury boutique hotels, guests will enjoy the pastoral 4,200-acre estate and all it has to offer, such as wine and farm-to-table tastings, Orvis-endorsed fly fishing, horseback riding, the Wellhouse spa and more. We’ve also heard their room accommodations are heavenly.
The Cloister (Sea Island, GA)
For elegant, heartfelt hospitality, check out The Cloister of Sea Island on Georgia’s beautiful coast. Whether you and your new hubby are looking for activity or if you just want to recharge, you can take your pick at this resort featuring five miles of private beach, a Beach Club, tennis center, world renowned golf course, elegantly appointed rooms and more.
The Hermitage Hotel (Nashville, TN)
If you’re looking for a more active honeymoon, check out the hustle and bustle of the country music capital of the world – Nashville! You’re bound to stumble upon amazing music, historical sites, delicious Southern cuisine and maybe a country star or two, though we can’t guarantee it. Plus, one of Nashville’s gorgeous luxury hotels, The Hermitage, does NOT disappoint.
