Alex + Wes’s gorgeous wedding weekend last October kicked off with a rehearsal dinner at The Club in Birmingham, AL. With so many of their guests traveling from out of town, they wanted that Friday night to be a true reflection of their families. Mindy, Wes’s mom, trusted Invision Events to bring their vision of a relaxed, masculine and intimate rehearsal dinner to life!

Alex and Wes already had this spot in mind when it came time to choose their rehearsal dinner venue. In addition to its stunning city views atop Red Mountain, The Club holds sentimental value to Alex’s family as her parents also held their rehearsal dinner there.
Wes, born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi, grew up an avid duck hunter. His love for hunting was seamlessly incorporated into the paper suite designed by Empress Stationery, and HotHouse Design Studio wove cattails throughout the lush floral arrangements. Wes even gifted his groomsmen with custom carved wooden duck decoys found at their seats.
Guests were treated to a gourmet dinner featuring The Club’s famous orange rolls and a special champagne toast. Personalized favors included rice grits from the Mississippi farm the groom hunted on as a boy, paired with Sister Schubert rolls from the bride’s hometown of Luverne, AL.
I Do Linens created a custom piece for the occasion that made their large head table a stunning statement. Staff at The Club remarked that the staterooms had never looked so good!
It was so much fun to work with this couple and Wes’s family to put this spectacular event together. You could tell just how loved they are when rehearsal dinner speeches had to be cut short at the end of the night! The couple was happily surprised with a slideshow created by Main Street Productions, and Kelli + Daniel Photography captured the entire event.
Alex and Wes’s wedding weekend was stunning from top to bottom. Click here for photos of their incredible wedding ceremony at Cathedral Church of the Advent and following reception at the Birmingham Museum of Art.
We know it’s been a little while since your big day, but better late than never! We so hope you enjoyed your incredible Hawaiian honeymoon and your first year as newlyweds.
Cheers! Courtney
