Hey y’all! My name is Kaitlynne, and you may or may not know me, so please allow me to introduce myself: I am a wedding planner with Invision Events’ Atlanta branch, and I am SO excited to be blogging for the first time here! Becoming a wedding planner (and being taken under the collective wing of Julie and Courtney over the last year or so!) with Invision Events was one of the best decisions I have ever made; especially because of the amazing opportunities I have been given to get to know the sweetest brides and grooms, their families, and other amazingly talented vendors.
Thus, it is only appropriate that today my blog post is centered around one of these amazing opportunities: an Atlanta wedding styled photo shoot, that with the subtle, encouraging creative direction of Julie, Invision Atlanta designed and planned.
The question we pondered during the planning of this styled shoot: what does it mean to be a sophisticated Southern bride in modern times?
Southern women appreciate tradition, but they are also forward thinking. They are classic, while simultaneously innovative and daring. Southerners love a big, inclusive party, but they also appreciate the value of an intimate affair.
Our take on the modern Southern bride’s vision began with Morgan’s selection of the dramatically stunning Hayley Page “Esther” ball gown, courtesy of White Dresses Boutique in Huntsville, Alabama. Venuewise, we fell back in love with an Atlanta Wedding classic: Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, the Tudor Revival style mansion built in the 1920’s by the founders of the Coca-Cola Company, the Candler family.
We were inspired by thoughts of the sun shining down on Charleston’s Folly Beach in the June heat, watercolor paintings by local Hilton Head Island artisans, walnut and white oak floors inside of an old Atlanta mansion, the wind, soul food, whimsical beginnings, the laughter of young love, and the romantic words of F. Scott Fitzgerald.
Without further adieu, I present to you our Whimsical & Whispy shoot, Invision Atlanta’s first true labor of wedding planning design and love, shot by Atlanta Wedding Photographer Jess Henderson of Love Ya Jess Photography.
xxxx, Kaitlynne
