Lindsey and Burke: A Classic Summer Birmingham Wedding {Avon Theater | Birmingham, Ala.}

Lindsey and Burke’s wedding was all things classic and we really loved it. We first met Lindsey in January, just days after her engagement, and planning went in to full swing to pull off a big, family oriented, June wedding.

A few things were a given after sitting down with her and her sister, Mary Rachel: 1. She needed a Heidi Elnora gown. 2. Kelli and Daniel Taylor had to shoot and 3. Despite how modern Lindsey wanted to be, she was a tried and true traditionalist at heart.

We brought in Ray with Flowerbuds for her florals and I love how he always seems to add a touch of sweetness to his work. Julie with Sweet Magnolia’s was good to us and created both delicious (and super stunning) cakes for the reception at Avon Theater. And of course, with the help of Birmingham’s own paper design genius, Empress Stationery all of the touches of gold and ivory were paired just perfectly. Oh, and who could forget the meal everyone enjoyed? The crew with B&A Warehouse treated us all to salmon, beef tenderloin, a summer strawberry salad, and my favorite, a potato bar.

It was a lot of fun pulling together the slew of personal touches we had with this wedding. First, we had a custom monogram designed to incorporate the bride and groom’s initials, and then a single custom design for their new married last name. We even got to tie in the groom’s love of hunting and his two labs. Even the welcome bags had personal flair – themed cookies from Savage’s (Lindsey’s mom put a smiley face cookie in her school lunches growing up) and an apple, as a nod to the her favorite healthy snack. Oh, and that camo getaway truck? Yup, all groom!

Lindsey and Burke, you will always hold a special place with me and I am thankful for the time I got to spend serving you in this endeavor. I hope your Key West honeymoon was a blast and you are enjoying your new married life here in Birmingham!
