Emily and Matt’s wedding day was a breath of fresh air. Both of them radiated so effortlessly that day and it was obvious from the friends and family that surrounded them that they are deeply loved. It was a true joy to get to know both of them and their families and plan along side them for such a special occasion.
For this Texas duo, pulling off a wedding in Birmingham added a fun twist. Emily and Matt met in Austin, Texas where the two of them (at the time, resided) after graduating from Vanderbilt and Texas A&M, respectively. The newlyweds now call Dallas home where Matt is an attorney and Emily is learning to write code.
Emily’s mom actually called us a week or so before the engagement was going to happen last spring, to make sure that we were available and to get some balls rolling on a fall wedding at Swann Lake Stables. The rest is pretty much history!
And we seriously loved every last detail…the perfect paper touches from Katie at Linen & Leaf (including a gorgeous watercolor map save the date), the cheerful and colorful blooms from Laura McCarty of Marked (seriously though, those dahlias are to die for), the showstopping performance from The Neons, and the tastebud smacking dinner designed and served by Shindigs. Add in the dessert (a gorgeous naked cake) from Cakes by Kim and Big Spoon Creamery and you can’t help but be happy!
