Each December, Pantone Inc., the universal authority on all things color, announces its Color of the Year for the following year. Our team was thrilled to learn that Greenery (or Pantone 15-0343, to be exact) is the pick for 2017! Here’s what Pantone Color Institute has to say about this fun selection:
“A refreshing and revitalizing shade, Greenery is symbolic of new beginnings. Greenery is a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew. Illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors, the fortifying attributes of Greenery signals consumers to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate.”
Not only are we ready to help our brides incorporate Greenery into their wedding day palettes, but we’re also feeling inspired to liven up our homes with such a dynamic and invigorating color. After all, who doesn’t enjoy a good dose of fresh air and foliage? For our readers who are making a house into a home, stay current in your décor with easy tips to incorporate this unique hue.
Go literal.
The easiest (and most obvious) way to bring Greenery into your home is to bring the great outdoors in. Indoor plants are not only beautiful to look at, but they’ve also been proven to remove air pollutants, increase productivity and boost your mood. So, go ahead and plant the succulent garden you’ve been dreaming about, fill an empty corner with a potted tree or place an orchid on your entryway table.
Paint for a pop of color.
For a burst of energy, pick a dull piece of furniture or a bare wall you’ve been meaning to transform, and give it new life by painting it green. You’ll appreciate the energy it provides for a lackluster room.
Don’t forget the details.
It’s no secret our team is dedicated to the details of each of our brides’ big days. We know details make or break an experience or a look, and the same rings true for décor. Sneak in Greenery where it makes sense, such as in throw pillows on the living room couch, a vase on your mantle or a bowl full of green apples on your kitchen counter.
Your turn!
