OUR FAVORITE TUNES TO CELEBRATE WITH

October 17, 2019

Nothing is better than walking down the aisle to meet your soon to be spouse and then dancing together for the first time as a newly married couple. For some, deciding on the music that accompanies these moments is easy. For others, it can be daunting. With so many options to choose from, scrolling through what seems like an endless list can be tough. So today, we’re sharing our favorites in hopes of making this an easy part of your planning.

Ceremony

“Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring”  by J.S. Bach is one of the most common English titles and a ceremony favorite. This gorgeous instrumental arrangement is played at a slow tempo and is perfect for couples looking for a romantic song that encompasses a religious undertone. We love this piece for the seating of the mothers/grandmothers as well as for the wedding party processional.

Bride’s Processional

“Ode to Joy” by Ludwig van Beethovan was translated for his final (fourth) movement of the Ninth Symphony. This piano solo is the perfect route to take for brides wanting a traditional piece of art.

First Dance

“You Are The Reason” by Calum Scott  not only has a beautiful melody, but also breathtaking lyrics. Scott explained the meaning of his song as sticking with the person you love “because the love you fundamentally feel for the other person overrides everything else.”

“Over the Rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwo’oel is also a beautiful option. The words, acoustic backing, and slow melody make this song a soft and sweet selection.
