Here, There and Everywhere: Invision Events Industry Impact

Recently, Julie and Courtney have had the distinct pleasure of being able to speak, present and ultimately cultivate community amongst our industry. Here’s a highlight and recap of all the places and spaces they’ve been in so far this year.

January 22-26th, 2023: Wedding Film Retreat in Belize

Courtney headlined at this intimate retreat hosted by Sarah and Rick Pendergraft of Pen Weddings, a husband and wife cinematography duo based out of Oklahoma. She gave a 2.5 hour robust and fully transparent presentation (complete with plenty of Q+A!) on The Business of Weddings: Pricing, Planners and Priorities. The group of nearly three dozen videographers from across the country were smitten with what she had to say, dubbing her “fierce, fun and fabulous.” Even Greg and William were able to tag along to this immersive experience. It was one for the books and included nearly a dozen Educate | Empower | Encourage members, too!

March 8th, 2023: Nashville WIPA Town Hall in Nashville, Tennessee

Courtney was honored to be the keynote speaker and educator at Nashville WIPA’s Town Hall this spring. Hosted at 1 Hotel, a luxury sustainable pet-friendly hotel in the heart of downtown Nashville, this event featured more than 125 attendees – the largest WIPA townhall ever! Courtney’s discussion of Stand for Something or Fall for Anything: Why Owning Your Distinct Brand Voice Matters resonated with her peers and was well received. Kudos to the Nashville WIPA chapter and a special shout out to the nine E3 members who serve on the board and made the town hall a smashing success.

April 16th-20th: Hybrid Co in Amelia Island, Florida

Did somebody say hat trick?! After being asked to present a breakout session in both 2020 and 2021, Courtney returned to the Hybrid stage for the third time to lead What a Planner Needs and Wants From Their Creative Team to an engaging and interactive crowd. Thoughtful discussions were had and perspective shifts were gained. The cherry on top? Nearly four dozen Educate | Empower | Encourage members took part in this year’s Hybrid, with several speaking from the mainstage, leading masterclasses and mastershoots as well as hosting breakout sessions.

April 25-26th: The Graceful Gathering in Columbus, Ohio

Courtney was humbled to make her debut at The Graceful Gathering as a keynote speaker. She delivered a compelling and emotional message that brought the room of more than 100 to tears, twice. Her talk titled Radical Responsibility As an Artist: Making People Feel made people do just that. She looks forward to returning to a future Graceful and enjoyed sharing the stage and experience with a handful of fellow Educate | Empower | Encourage members, including another Courtney: Courtney Cannon of The Cannons Photography, who hosts and puts on the multi day event.

May 1st: The Editorial Experiences in Atlanta, Georgia

This was another wonderful experience that featured many E3 members as speakers, leaders and mentors. Hosted by Amberly Odom of Wrenwood Design, this experience featured photographers and videographers from across the country. Courtney gave a signature presentation on The Language of Luxury and instant praise from attendees included: “Your message was very thoughtful and concise and it really resonated with me.” along with “There were a lot of great take-aways, thank you for your insight.” Courtney looks forward to speaking at future Editorial Experiences.

May 10th: North Carolina WIPA Town Hall in Cary, North Carolina

Julie was honored to speak at the inaugural North Carolina WIPA chapter town hall in May. The event was held at Umstead Hotel and Spa in Cary North Carolina and featured an info session on the many benefits of a WIPA membership, as well as quality networking time with other wedding industry creatives in the North Carolina area. Julie presented the topic Your Career is a Chess Game: Why Slow Growth, Strong Roots and a Strategic Mindset Matter. She is so grateful to the steering committee (stacked with E3 members!) for including her in their launch event.
