Sarah and Alex are exactly the kind of happy-go-lucky people that you just want to be around. These two are perfect for each other, and it’s so evident to anyone that knows them!

Their Birmingham winter wedding at The Barn at Shady Lane this February was perfectly cozy, and the fact that Sarah’s sister is Jessica Stalnaker of Empress Stationery was just icing on the {wedding} cake.

The bridal party prepared for the day just down the road from the wedding venue in a suite at Ross Bridge. The hair and makeup by Brittany Benton Massey was spot-on, and Kathleen Varner at Edna K Design created soft, romantic florals to match. There was a feminine, organic touch to everything, without being too girly or overdone.

The ceremony was absolutely dreamy, with flickering candles lining the center aisle. Sarah and Alex loved that they could do so much all in one venue and thanks to a quick flip during cocktail hour the candles, greenery and décor helped transition the space into a beautiful reception.

Danny at D’Armond Catering served up a good ol’ fashioned “Southern favorites” menu featuring some of his go-to’s, including his famous signature dip served warm with Ritz crackers. I always get it for my family at Thanksgiving and trust me, it doesn’t last long!

This fun-loving couple knew they wanted to give their guests a good time, and they definitely danced the night away. The bride’s brother-in-law, Nick, even put on a tiger onesie to start the party. Big Night Dynamite put on a killer show, and the dance floor was poppin’ with sunglasses, tambourines and glow sticks.

Their sparkler-filled exit featured a convertible from the personal collection of the groom’s family.

Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Odom! We so hope you enjoyed your European honeymoon adventure!
