The team at Dixie Design Collective are experts and creative geniuses in the realm of pretty paper. Take one look at their goodies, and you’ll know exactly what we’re talking about. From Christmas cards to birth announcements to birthday party invitations and more, Dixie Design is best known for its sweetly Southern look-and-feel, with gorgeous designs that will knock your socks off! Today, they tell us a little more about their products and how they work with brides to create a gorgeous, customized suite.
What’s the story behind Dixie Design?
Our story began in 2014 when our founder, Jennifer Hunt—a busy mother of two who moonlights as an accountant and an art dealer—waited a touch too long to order her holiday cards. Like many busy women before her, Jennifer found that booking an artist to create the hand-lettered cards she wanted was not a possibility. She took to the web, but her efforts were futile. No one was delivering online customizable calligraphy and art-driven holiday stationery. That is when the idea sprung for a website where discerning customers could go for hand-made cards that were thoughtfully and gorgeously created by real artists.
What types of services and/or products do you offer clients?
Dixie Design Collective is a purveyor of ready-made stationery, hand-designed by a collective of skilled artists. Our artists are committed to producing quality works through calligraphy, painting, illustrating and other hand-lettering techniques. The hand-crafted designs are printed on luxurious paper and include messages and photos that are easily customizable. Dixie Design offers stationery for every need including holiday cards and gift tags, wedding paper suites, party invitations and personalized note-writing sets.
How would you describe the style of your work?
With its collective of 22 artists (and growing!), Dixie is able to supply cards that are as unique as the intended recipients. Each Dixie artist, with their own distinctive style, creates multiple one-of-a-kind designs, which ensures you will find a card to suit your taste.
In your opinion, how can a bride best make an impact with her paper suite?
The wedding paper is often the first visual impression guests receive of each of the particular wedding events, so we believe it is important to have each piece of paper in a bride’s suite not only accurately set the desired tone of the event, but also coordinate with the other pieces.
What advice would you give a bride who is still deciding on the look-and-feel of her wedding paper?
We suggest imagining the tone and formality that you would like your wedding day to feel. A bride can also use the season of the wedding date as inspiration for the look of her wedding paper.
