One of the best parts of our job is getting to know all the wonderful vendors that are in the wedding industry and getting to share those amazing professionals with our clients. Pairing each couple with the perfect team to make their day a reality is a special treat.
Getting to know all the amazing destination wedding properties is on another level of fun because we actually get to visit those incredible spots and experience for ourselves what magic they can create. Last week, we had the privilege of doing just that at Devil’s Thumb Ranch in Tabernash, Colorado. The wonderful team at Table 6 Productions put together an amazing trip for us and I am excited to get to share it with you.
Day One – Photos by Rachel Havel
It was a quick flight into Denver to meet up with our shuttle to take us to the ranch. On our way through the mountains, we were happy to find that fall had given way to a fresh blanket of snow already waiting for us. Seeing this scene sent all the cozy feelings all over me. We quickly set our things in the room and met our welcoming party cocktail hour: ponies with drinks!
After a quick tour of the property, we were welcomed into a beautiful dinner scene. Amanda of Table 6 Productions had worked with New Leaf Design to design the most beautiful space. The ivories and soft pinks mixed with dark foliage was speaking directly to my heart.
Day Two – Photos by Ashley Sawtelle
With more snow in the forecast, what better thing to do than to go get a facial at the spa? We joined our crew in the snow after lunch for some ranch-style activities. Learning the ropes, literally, on lassoing and archery.
Just before we headed into another amazing dinner, we met Phoebe the ranch dog as we gathered in a warm tee-pee tent for cocktail hour. Phoebe preferred the snow to the tent – she has a heavier coat than I do.
Our farewell dinner was once again perfection. Yonder House pulled out all the stops to make it a cozy and welcoming place for us to dine before we really heated things up on the dance floor and Jordan Kahn Orchestra‘s killer party.
In short, it was the perfect trip. Colorado is a truly magic spot for a destination wedding. But Devil’s Thumb Ranch is what makes that magic come to life. I cannot wait to be with our couples at Devil’s Thumb as they plan their wedding weekend in the mountains.
Until next time… xoxo, Julie
