When we began working with Margaret and Matthew on their wedding, we knew it would be something very personal and unique. They were living in Los Angeles and planned to hold their wedding on her family’s farm retreat in Central Alabama.
Margaret’s parents spent much of their time traveling from their home in Dallas to spend weekends in this idyllic spot – quiet and private. Margaret and Matthew wanted to welcome their family and closest friends to the farm as a getaway weekend.
In addition to the farm, the property included a picturesque historic chapel. It had been part of their family’s history for generations. The white steeple, the stained glass windows – you couldn’t have dreamt of a more quaint and peaceful ceremony spot.
Their day was a gorgeous summer occasion. The design had a flair of bohemian meets southern lush. My favorite piece was Margaret’s custom Claire Pettibone dress that featured a delicate embellished lace overlaid on a blue silk. It was “something blue” done so well.
Floral partner HotHouse Design Studio worked their magic on the chapel with classic greens and white and then transitioned the design to a bold textured-filled reception of fuchsias with succulents and basket lights.
It was one of the most fun and freeing designs we’ve had the thrill to work on and the sweetest families to be around. Many thanks to Rachel and Noah Ray for capturing the day so wonderfully and for sharing those images with us.
Much love to Margaret and Matthew!
