On a gorgeous spring Saturday last April, LeeAnne and William married amidst a group of their closest loved ones in downtown Birmingham. The pair met and fell in love in New York City, but for their wedding day they opted to show their guests a little Southern hospitality and LeeAnne, a Birmingham native, and William, born and raised in North Carolina, didn’t let us down!

From the beginning, we knew we were in for something special. Holly Hollon from Holly Hollon Design & Calligraphy and LeeAnne go way back (they are childhood friends!) so it was no question who would be designing LeeAnne’s paper suite.

The ceremony was set at First Presbyterian Church, followed by a reception at Clubhouse On Highland and Kathleen Varner of Edna K Design’s florals provided a lovely complement to the cozy space. LeeAnne’s bouquet was soft and feminine with a touch of asymmetry, and was a favorite of ours, winning Best Bouquet for Best of Invision Events – 2017. We especially loved the floral belt around LeeAnne’s stunning wedding gown!

Savoie Catering crafted a delightful menu of fresh and flavorful cuisine. The colorful display of charcuterie during cocktail hour was a crowd favorite, as well as their vast arrangement of mini desserts that accompanied LeeAnne’s cake from Pen & Pastry. The central wooden staircase at Clubhouse on Highland provided a beautiful backdrop for both.

The overall atmosphere of the reception was cheerful and the entire day was full of love, laughter, and a few surprises. For example, William opted to include Cheerwine, a beloved product of his home state of North Carolina, as well as pull a little prank on his Mom with a silly song for their first dance. Fitting, because after all, it was April Fool’s Day’s.
