Giving Back: Monster Mash Wedding Bash

Since it is officially the month of all things Halloween, I thought I would share a wonderful relationship, cause and event with you guys. Let’s start at the beginning…

It all began with this adorable couple. Brittany and Alan were one of my very first couples that I worked with from start to finish. I loved their love story, their wedding, their families… Basically, it’s still in my wedding history book of all time favorites (8+ years ago).

Fast forward a few years to the addition of this lovely fella: Mack. Of course I feel some sort of weird attachment to my wedding couples’ kids. I mean, there has to be some credit I can take there, yes? Anyway… It was when Mack was tested as having autism spectrum disorder that Brittany and Alan searched out and found the Marcus Autism Center in Atlanta. Mack attended Marcus’ programs for 18 months. This fall, Mack was enrolled in a main stream public kindergarten class and doing so well that he didn’t even qualify for a single special service.

So, imagine when Brittany and I were casually chatting about an event that we had always tossed around as a “it’s such a good idea,” and “we should do something like this sometime.” A few conversations later and we had a skeleton outline of our event. Adding Brittany’s unnatural love for Halloween to my life in the wedding world and a great benefiting organization, our Monster Mash Wedding Bash was born.
