Lelia was my first friend at my first big girl job in Atlanta right out of college. She took me to lunch on my very first day because she heard I worked for an event planning company in college and she thought her college beau, Nick, might be proposing soon. We talked about how she and Nick had met at their alma mater USC, and about how they fell in love! This conversation turned into discussing the highs and lows of the wedding planning process, and about my favorite Atlanta vendors that she should consider – like Lush Cakery. It’s crazy to think how long ago that was, and how we’re now only 3 days away from her big day!
She talked about her love for the mountains and I told her about my favorite mountain getaway Highlands, NC. A few months later Lelia and I were deciding what outfits she should wear to her mountain weekend getaway with Nick, little did she know (or me) that this would be the weekend she would get engaged! Nick had carefully planned a special weekend of dining at Madison’s and Paoletti’s, as well as a tour of the Rockwood Lodge, one of the properties Old Edwards Inn manages.
As they were overlooking the gorgeous mountains Nick dropped to one knee and proposed to Lelia. She was so excited. Nick had also arranged for a photographer to do an impromptu mini engagement session at the Lodge.
A few months later after the craziness had died down and the planning of their wedding was underway, they decided to get their engagement pictures done by Nick Breedlove in the same town where their engagement took place. Naturally they chose some of the favorite spots around down, The Old Edward’s Inn, Downtown Highlands and Sunset Rock as their setting. Lelia is a spitfire with a big heart and Nick is her strong and steady and we are so excited for their Highlands wedding at The Old Edwards Club November 21st!
Cheers! – Morgan
